Anchor yourself in what you know is true.
Do you find yourself questioning what you are hearing on the news:
Is all this social distancing really going to make a difference? Has the stock market completely collapsed or will it quickly rebound? Will thousands of businesses simply cease to exist?
We really don't know the answers to any of these. But when our mind works overtime trying to process these kinds of questions we literally create anxiety and stress for ourselves trying to know the unknowable.
What if we prayed and asked God to help us break the cycle of questioning what is going to happen and "why" it is happening.
Instead, perhaps we could ask Him,
“Lord . . .
🔸 Please share Your heart’s desire for me in this time?"
🔸 What more do You want to reveal to me about Yourself?"
🔸 Who do You want to be for me through all of this?"
🔸 How can I lean more on You and come to trust You more?
This is a perfect time to develop a deeper more intimate relationship with the Living God . . . spending more time in His presence and feasting on his Word.
God made the human heart to respond to His Word. As we hear it, and learn it, and internalize it, we come to simply KNOW it's true.
His Truth is Our Anchor in Times of Trouble! 💥
Scripture clearly tells us that faith comes from HEARING the Word of God (Romans 10:17).
Unfortunately, fear comes the same way. When we hear what isn't true often enough, or when our minds are filled with questions we can’t possibly answer, fear is the natural outcome.
God’s Word says . . .
“You will keep in perfect peace all who trust in you, all whose thoughts are fixed on you!” Isaiah 26:3 NLT
Let us fix our thoughts on what God says is true!
In Jesus' name. Amen.
